Frequently Asked Questions

Ethically, therapists cannot make any guarantees. In addition, each client is unique and will progress at his or her own pace. Clients who have consistent attendance and implement weekly home practice typically see initial results within 3-6 months.

Tryumph Speech Therapy is open 10am-6pm Monday through Thursday. We are closed Friday through Sunday. After school time slots (3pm onward) are the highest in demand. To assist us with ongoing scheduling, we ask our clients to provide us all days and times that they have available so that we can modify our schedule when needed in order to serve each of our clients on a regular basis.

In order to provide a higher level of care with more personalized and customized treatment plans, we have chosen not to contract with any insurance providers. Tryumph Speech Therapy accepts self-pay clients only and is considered an out-of-network provider for all insurances. We are, however, able to provide a superbill at your request, which you may submit to your insurance provider for potential reimbursement.

Frequency recommendations are based on the unique needs of each client. With that being said, the most common recommendation for treatment is twice weekly. This frequency provides multiple learning opportunities during the week, which maximizes progress and decreases the chance that targeted skills are forgotten prior to the next session.

We are very familiar with speech sound disorders and receptive/expressive language disorders. We also have extensive experience working with individuals with special needs. In 2024, our owner will be in her 13th year practicing speech therapy, but she has worked closely with children with autism since 2008. This means 15+ years working with the ASD population!

If you have any concerns regarding your child's development, don't hesitate to book a free consultation with us. The free consultation starts with a 15-20 minute Discovery Call where you can speak to a therapist without having to commit to a full evaluation. The therapist will listen to your concerns, ask follow-up questions, and make recommendations. If at the end of the call you feel like Tryumph Speech Therapy is a good fit for you and your family, we then schedule a complimentary "meet and greet" over Zoom that includes your child. This process is a wonderful way to put a face to the voice and to build rapport right from the start.

Communication has many aspects, so it's important to understand the difference between "speech" and "language" since these terms are not one and the same. A speech disorder refers to a problem with the physical production of speech sounds, while a language disorder refers to difficulty understanding or using words and sentences. At Tryumph Speech Therapy, we specialize in evaluating and treating both speech and language disorders. Speech-language pathologists (SLPs) can assess and work on receptive language (what a child understands or comprehends) and expressive language (how a child communicates his or her wants, needs, and desires).

We work with toddlers, kids, teens, and adults! Our previous experience in home health, clinics, and public schools is quite diverse and has allowed us to feel confident working with all ages and ability levels. If we feel that we will not be a good fit for your needs, we will let you know and gladly refer you to colleagues that we trust.

Tryumph Speech Therapy does not have a brick-and-mortar location. We are proud to serve our clients online, in-home, and in the community (daycare, private school, playground, library, etc). Virtual sessions are conveniently available to clients located throughout Texas and Kansas. In order to better serve the needs of our local community, we can provide in-person onsite visits to clients within the greater Austin, Texas area.

We conveniently serve all of Texas and Kansas online. In the Austin area, we provide in-person onsite visits primarily to South Austin, Downtown, and Westlake. Onsite visits within a 3-mile radius of S. 1st Street & W. Oltorf Street do not incur a travel time fee. Please arrange for a Discovery Call to discuss further details on pricing based on your location/distance.

Regular attendance is crucial in order to see progress. While we discourage canceling, we understand that scheduling conflicts can occur. We ask that you request reschedules or cancellations at least 24 hours in advance in order to avoid a late cancellation fee. Please note that late cancellation fees are equal to 100% the session rate. Tryumph Speech Therapy reserves the right to discharge a client due to excessive tardiness, reschedules, and/or cancellations.

These letters, colloquially known as one's “C’s,” stand for “Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology.” This credential is certified by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) and is considered the gold standard for speech therapy professionals. While ASHA certification is not required in order to practice, the level of excellence is similar to how doctors can become board certified. Learn more about ASHA’s CCC requirements here.
